Grundy County strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 14-7 win over the Monterey Wildcats. The 14-point effort marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Vince Bryant produced another solid performance rushing for 100 yards, while also picking up 35 receiving yards.

Grundy County's record is now 7-0. As for Monterey, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Grundy County will face off against Marion County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Yellowjackets 5.6, the Warriors 6.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Monterey, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trousdale County at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
