White Oak is 9-1 against Northside - Jacksonville since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The White Oak Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. White Oak is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

White Oak is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pamlico County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hurricanes.

Alyssa Carkhuff was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Avery Sise was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, White Oak hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Northside - Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against South Central, falling 33-0.

White Oak's record is now 4-3. As for Northside - Jacksonville, their record now sits at 0-5.

White Oak took their victory against Northside - Jacksonville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for White Oak since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
