Soccer Game Preview: McLane vs. Central East

The McLane Highlanders and the Central East Bengals will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McLane is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

McLane's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Los Banos. McLane's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Wilber Ruiz and Rogelio Rendon scored both of McLane's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Central East has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the 6th. They fell 2-0 to Sunnyside on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Central East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 411th, while Sunnyside are ranked 76th).

McLane's win bumped their record up to 6-1-2. As for Central East, they now have a losing record of 2-3-4.
