Football Recap: Thrall Comes Up Short

Thrall played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 44-20 to the Troy Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 950th, while the Trojans are ranked 470th).

Jayden Lucky produced another solid effort rushing for 142 yards and three touchdowns, while also picking up 80 receiving yards and one TD for Troy. Lucky's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 135 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Owen Smith, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one score.

Thrall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Troy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Thrall is taking a road trip to challenge Johnson City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Troy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Maypearl at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
