Baseball Recap: 17 Straight Home Wins for Thorndale

Thorndale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Rosebud-Lott Cougars with a sharp 10-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in March.

Gunner Ferguson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pedro Jimenez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Harkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Thorndale's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rosebud-Lott, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-7-1 record.

Looking ahead, Thorndale is taking a road trip to challenge Bosqueville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rosebud-Lott, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bremond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
