Basketball Recap: Long Creek Takes a Loss

Long Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lexington Eagles. While losing is never fun, Long Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1185th, while Lexington is ranked 389th).

Lexington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maya Bell, who went 8 of 19 en route to 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Bell is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Bell, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Long Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lexington, their record now sits at 12-2.

Long Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-22 defeat against Moulton on the 14th. As for Lexington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-29 win against Sacred Heart on the 14th.
