After losing to Pershing County the last time they met, North Tahoe decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lakers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lakers.
North Tahoe had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 7-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.
Sienna Hartman paced North Tahoe's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hartman got some help from Dawna Li and her 17 assists. Li was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Despite the loss, Pershing County still got an impressive performance from Jaymie George, who had 20 assists and nine digs.
North Tahoe's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Pershing County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
