Soccer Game Preview: Central Davidson vs. Asheboro

Central Davidson hasn't had much luck against Asheboro recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Spartans will face off against the Blue Comets at 6:30 p.m. Central Davidson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.

Central Davidson is headed into the contest having not lost since March 10 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Lexington finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Central Davidson have been dealt a draw since back in March.

Their goal came courtesy of Kendra Ogle, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Asheboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to Oak Grove.

With that draw, Central Davidson's record moves to 8-2-2. As for Asheboro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Central Davidson suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Asheboro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
