Dynamic duo of Aniyah Warner and Nylah Mcshan lead Steubenville to victory

Recap: Steubenville Big Red vs. Linsly Cadets

After losing to the Linsly Cadets the last time they met, the Steubenville Big Red decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Steubenville enjoyed a cozy 65-48 victory over Linsly on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Steubenville's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 106th in Ohio, while Linsly is ranked 20th in West Virginia).

Steubenville was led to victory by Aniyah Warner and Nylah Mcshan. Warner dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Mcshan dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mcshan has scored at least a third of Steubenville's points. Sabria Jones was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Steubenville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Linsly, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-13.

Steubenville will stay at home for another game and welcome Weir at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Linsly, they will head out on the road to challenge Shenandoah at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shenandoah is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
