Softball Recap: Southfield Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Redford Union on Friday, Southfield Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 8-3 to the Inter-City Baptist Chargers on Monday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 8-6 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taniya Hall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Lexi Hankinson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Southfield Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Inter-City Baptist, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southfield Christian will host Clarenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Inter-City Baptist, they will be playing at home against Dearborn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
