Football Game Preview: West Memphis Blue Devils vs. Benton Panthers

The West Memphis Blue Devils will challenge the Benton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Memphis has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 11 straight losses, while Benton will come in with three straight wins.

West Memphis is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against El Dorado on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Blue Devils were dealt a 51-7 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.

Although West Memphis took the loss, they still got scores from Kevius Woods Jr and Andrew Clay III.

Meanwhile, Benton never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Catholic 63-0. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Benton's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for West Memphis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

West Memphis was dealt a bruising 49-7 defeat at the hands of Benton when the teams last played back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 42-0.
