Basketball Recap: Jhada Cordon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Chavez

Poly's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 46-40 victory over the Chavez Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-37 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jhada Cordon, who posted 16 points and six boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cordon has scored at least a third of Poly's points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Flores, who scored ten points and eight rebounds.

Poly now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Chavez, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Poly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 37-20 loss against Holy Martyrs Armenian on the 25th. As for Chavez, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
