Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cristo Rey needed a changed in momentum after dropping six straight games and they got it from Charles Sawaya. Cristo Rey sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 win over the School for Entrepreneurship & Technology Lions on Thursday thanks in part to Sawaya, who went 9 of 19 en route to 23 points and eight steals. Sawaya is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Despite the defeat, School for Entrepreneurship & Technology saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nathan Toon posted 32 points. That was a full 51.6% of School for Entrepreneurship & Technology's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Xavier Tate was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Cristo Rey's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for School for Entrepreneurship & Technology, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-8.
