East Ascension waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Glen Oaks Panthers 53-36. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Panthers are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Ascension's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Glen Oaks, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Ascension will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Destrehan at 6:00 p.m. on January 16, 2025. As for Glen Oaks, they are taking a road trip to take on South Terrebonne at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
