Soccer Game Preview: Palm Beach Central vs. Somerset Academy - Canyons

The Palm Beach Central Broncos will face off against the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Palm Beach Central took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Leonard a 1-0 shutout. The win was all the more spectacular given the Broncos' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Lancers are ranked 122nd).

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy - Canyons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Montverde Academy.

Somerset Academy - Canyons' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2. As for Palm Beach Central, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7.
