Basketball Recap: Gilmer County Find Success

Roane County came into Wednesday's match looking for another win against Gilmer County, but Kolten Holbert wouldn't allow it. The Gilmer County Titans came out on top against the Roane County Raiders by a score of 71-61 on Wednesday thanks in part to Holbert, who went 14 of 19 on his way to 36 points and five steals. Those 36 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Brody Beall, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. He also put up two assists, which werehis first of the season.

Gilmer County's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Roane County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Gilmer County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-59 loss against Wirt County on the 30th. As for Roane County, they will host Gilmer County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Cam Cumpston and Jacob Mick.
