Baseball Recap: Alameda Wins Going Away Against Manual

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Denver South, Alameda was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Manual Thunderbolts 16-2. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pirates needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Hudson Judy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Judy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Edwin Arroyo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Alan Chairez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Alameda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Alameda now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Manual, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Alameda will square off against Vista PEAK Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manual, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Machebeuf at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manual has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
