Baseball Recap: Venus Gets the Win

Venus's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Hillsboro Eagles by a score of 12-7. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Eagles last Friday, they had to take a 19-11 loss.

Cayden Lucas was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cashton Klein, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Venus' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-9. As for Hillsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Venus will take on Godley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Venus' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hillsboro, they will square off against Italy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillsboro is facing Italy at the right time seeing as Italy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
