Basketball Recap: West Geauga Continues Home Dominance on Friday

West Geauga had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over the Holy Name Green Wave on Friday. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Green Wave are ranked 440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Geauga pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points over those games. As for Holy Name, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Looking ahead, West Geauga will host West Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Name does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
