Basketball Recap: Greenville Tech Charter Starts off Right with Win over Greer Middle College

Greenville Tech Charter took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They snuck past the Greer Middle College Blazers with a 36-31 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Greenville Tech Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Chasteen, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Chasteen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alacyea Killingsworth, who had 12 points and three steals.

Greer Middle College is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Greenville Tech Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-29 victory against Laurens Academy on the 9th. As for Greer Middle College, they will face off against High Point Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
