Baseball Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. Citrus Hurricanes
Lecanto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Citrus Hurricanes, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 last Tuesday.
Lecanto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Aungst, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Aungst a new career-high. Garrett Pitzer was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Lecanto's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Citrus, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lecanto will challenge Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Citrus, they will square off against Lake Weir at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Citrus will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
