Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Bulldogs vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Centennial will face off against Spring Valley. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Centennial came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Spring Valley by a score of 11-9 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Centennial got a good showing from Kane Barber, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Barber has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marco Perez and Terrell Otis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Perez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Otis went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tyler Jackson, who went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
