Baseball Recap: Compass Academy Wins Going Away Against Stanton

Compass Academy barely beat Stanton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Compass Academy blew past Stanton 18-7 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for Compass Academy, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

GAVIN CRANFILL was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. KASON TRAVIS was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Compass Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanton only posted an OBP of .368.

Compass Academy moved to 11-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Stanton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Compass Academy will take on rival Coahoma at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stanton is set to square off against their familiar foe Crane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
