Basketball Game Preview: Parkersburg Christian vs. Elk Valley Christian

Parkersburg Christian and Elk Valley Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. Parkersburg Christian will head out to face off against Elk Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Parkersburg Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Mount Hope Christian Academy, who was ranked sixth at the time (Parkersburg Christian was ranked fifth). Parkersburg Christian fell 49-37 to Mount Hope Christian Academy on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for Parkersburg Christian in their matchups with Mount Hope Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.

Parkersburg Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Wyatt Meadows, who posted 17 points and three steals, and Ashton Peeples, who earned 15 points and five steals. That was a full 45.9% of Parkersburg Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Elk Valley Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over Ohio Valley Christian on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elk Valley Christian.

Elk Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Parkersburg Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Parkersburg Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Elk Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkersburg Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
