Indian Valley has gone a perfect 7-0 against Hiland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Braves will host the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indian Valley has three straight victories, Hiland has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Indian Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Alliance on Friday as they made off with a 14-8 win. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six runs or more this season.
Indian Valley got a massive performance out of Bella Weaver, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Weaver also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Natalie Musser was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.
Weaver wasn't the only one making solid contact: Indian Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The Braves are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Hiland came up short against Waynedale on Saturday, falling 14-1.
Hiland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jalyn Immel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Hiland's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Indian Valley, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Hiland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Indian Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Hiland, though, as they've been averaging 11 hits. Given Indian Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Hawks will need to find a way to close that gap.
Indian Valley took their win against Hiland in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0 score. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
