Football Recap: West Side Falls Short Against Ranked South Fremont + How To Watch

West Side faced South Fremont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pirates fell 34-30 to the Cougars. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jaden Fuller threw for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Micah Benavidez was his top target, picking up 65 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Drake Sage rushed for 148 yards and one score on only eight carries.

West Side's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Fremont, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Side will venture away from home to challenge Marsh Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Fremont, they will head out to square off against West Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
