Basketball Recap: Quincy Notre Dame Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Quincy Notre Dame walked away with it. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 55-54 victory over the Mt. Vernon Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since January 7th.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Kamaree Pollard, who went 8-for-19 on her way to 25 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Autumn Rudd, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Quincy Notre Dame has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. Mt. Vernon moved to 29-4 with that loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Quincy Notre Dame will square off against Montini Catholic at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive. Mt. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
