Everything went their way against the Belle Plaine Dragons on Thursday as they made off with a 19-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won six in a row.
Douglass got a massive performance out of Maddie Waggoner, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Waggoner has posted since back in April of 2024. Gentry Bergsten was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
Douglass always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Douglass' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Belle Plaine, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
