Baseball Game Preview: Crooms Academy Panthers vs. Circle Christian Centurions

The Crooms Academy Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Circle Christian Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crooms Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Crooms Academy after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 5-2 to Windermere Prep. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Lakers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Aiden Marcialis was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Marcialis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Parker Buckley, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Circle Christian also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Jones by a score of 12-8.

Crooms Academy's record now sits at 4-9. As for Circle Christian, their record is now 5-13.

Crooms Academy came up short against Circle Christian in their previous matchup on Thursday, falling 7-2. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
