Baseball Recap: Foundation Academy Victorious

Foundation Academy won against West Orange last Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Lions skirted past the DME Academy - 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the - back in March, they had to take a 7-4 defeat.

Adam Glatthorn looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Foundation Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Taveras, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The win made it two in a row for Foundation Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for DME Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 20-4.

Looking ahead, Foundation Academy will square off against Timber Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for DME Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
