Volleyball Game Preview: Phoebus Phantoms vs. Warwick Raiders

Phoebus hasn't had much luck against Warwick recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Phantoms will be playing at home against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Warwick took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Phoebus, who comes in off a win.

Phoebus will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Kecoughtan, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Phantoms were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Phantoms.

Phoebus never let Kecoughtan on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-23.

Shyiah Sharpe and Canaan Claypoole were among the main playmakers for Phoebus as the former hit 100% for ten kills and 21 assists and ten aces and the latter had seven digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Warwick lost 3-0 to Heritage on Tuesday.

Phoebus' victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Warwick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Phoebus took their win against Warwick when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Phantoms repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
