Baseball Recap: Gregori Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Gregori hadn't done well against Pitman recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Pride. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Avyn Redoble spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gregori let Canon Buttell and Izaia Perez run wild. Buttell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Perez scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Perez has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times he's played. Stefan Thoukis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Gregori was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win (which was Gregori's fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pitman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Gregori will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pride: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
