After each having a week off, the Lambert Longhorns and the Douglas County Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Lambert will be strutting in after a win while Douglas County will be coming in after a loss.
Lambert was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against South Forsyth on Friday. The Longhorns took their contest with ease, bagging a 45-7 victory over the War Eagles. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Ethan Daughtery was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 38 yards. Those 38 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Lambert also got help from Nathaniel Fernander, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lambert proved: they limited South Forsyth to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Christopher Oladeji for the heroic effort on defense: he. They're 1-2 when they shut down the run game so well.
Lambert didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hudson Lee and Sunny Pachika. Lambert is undefeated when Lee posts one or more interceptions, but 3-4 otherwise.
On Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. Douglas County was outmatched by Carrollton and fell 55-22. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Lambert will have to contain MIKE JOHNSON as he made an impact in Douglas County's last game. He rushed for 42 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 139 yards on 12 of 17 attempts.
Even if they lost, Douglas County's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jordan Carter, ADRYAN COLE, and Steven (Zee) Mcclendon, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Carrollton's side was Carter, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Lambert is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.7 points over those games. As for Douglas County, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.
