Volleyball Recap: Ann Sobrato Comes Up Short

Ann Sobrato was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Presentation Panthers. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-9 in the first set.

Ann Sobrato actually scored more points across those three sets (58-49), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 9-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Olivia Scatena paced Ann Sobrato's offense, picking up nine kills. Scatena got some help from Jordan Bouton and her 26 assists. Scatena was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ann Sobrato's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Presentation, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Ann Sobrato wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Basis Independent Silicon Valley on the 13th. Presentation has also already played their next matchup (against Capuchino), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
