The St. Anthony's Friars will face off against the St. Joseph Cadets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with St. Anthony's sitting on four straight victories and St. Joseph on three.
If St. Anthony's beats St. Joseph with 18 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Friars never let St. Dominic get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Friars, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Melissa Gordon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, St. Anthony's got a massive performance out of Jaclyn Delpozzo, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2. Mia Vaccariello was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1.
St. Anthony's hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph won against Ludlowe on Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Cadets came out on top against Newtown by a score of 4-0.
Not much got past Katie Dzialo, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Newtown off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gina Coppola, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Caouette, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
St. Anthony's pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
St. Joseph's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Anthony's hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .432. It's a different story for St. Joseph, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain St. Anthony's hitters?
