Baseball Recap: Gorham Fayette Eagles vs. North Central Eagles
Gorham Fayette extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-11 in the process. They came up short against North Central, falling 21-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against North Central this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 back in April.
As for North Central, their record now sits at 8-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For North Central's part, Jackson Poynter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Poynter has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
