It was a good run, but Roosevelt unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. The match between them and the Des Moines North Polar Bears didn't end well, with the Roosevelt Roughriders falling 79-63. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Roughriders came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 111th).

Roosevelt's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Des Moines North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Roosevelt will face off against Lincoln at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Des Moines North, they will square off against Pella at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Pella knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Des Moines North likes a good challenge.
