Baseball Recap: Shannon Comes Up Short

Shannon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vardaman Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in February.

Shannon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylen Deans, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Deans has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Judon Harris was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Shannon's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Vardaman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Shannon will take on West Point at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vardaman, they will face off against Mantachie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
