Recap: Opelika Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers
The Opelika Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-43 to Auburn. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Opelika has scored all season.
Tabari Allen was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds for Auburn. Bradley Pearson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Opelika has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Auburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Opelika will take on the Aggies at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Sylacauga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the Bulldogs likes a good challenge. As for Auburn, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Benjamin Russell is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
