Baseball Game Preview: Shekinah Christian Flames vs. Madison Christian Eagles

The Shekinah Christian Flames will take on the Madison Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shekinah Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Madison Christian likes a good challenge.

Madison Christian's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Shekinah Christian hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Flames put the hurt on Northside Christian with a sharp 24-0 victory on Friday. The Flames have beaten the Lions the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Jayce Yoder and AJ Yoder made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Yoder pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, AJ struck out ten batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). At bat, Yoder scored four runs while going 3-for-4, while AJ scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Aiden Nofziger was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Nofziger is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Camden Miller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Madison Christian lost 13-2 to Granville Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled against Granville Christian Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Shekinah Christian's record is now 3-0. As for Madison Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Shekinah Christian came up short against Madison Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Flames avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
