Baseball Game Preview: Harbor Pirates vs. Aptos Mariners

The Harbor Pirates will face off against the Aptos Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harbor is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Saturday, Harbor got the win against Monta Vista by a conclusive 13-7. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Aptos suffered their closest loss since April 17, 2025 on Saturday. They fell just short of Mission College Prep by a score of 8-6. The loss was the Mariners' first of the season.

Cole McGillicuddy was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Dom Castillo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Aptos fell to 4-1. As for Harbor, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Harbor suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Aptos in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
