Volleyball Recap: St. Vincent-St. Mary Comes Up Short

St. Vincent-St. Mary lost against Mt. Vernon back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fighting Irish came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 3-0. The Fighting Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Vincent-St. Mary was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mt. Vernon work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-19, 25-13.

St. Vincent-St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Vincent-St. Mary will square off against Archbishop Hoban at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Mt. Vernon, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Watterson at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
