The contest between Poetry Community Christian and Greenville Christian wasn't particularly close, with Poetry Community Christian falling 40-24. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Poetry Community Christian of the 56-39 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Poetry Community Christian lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Daniel McClure. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. That was a full 45.8% of Poetry Community Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Poetry Community Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Greenville Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing First Baptist the next time they take the court. Greenville Christian will head out to face First Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Poetry Community Christian will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
