The Serrano Diamondbacks will head out to take on the Apple Valley Sun Devils at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Serrano turned things around against Hesperia on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Scorpions. The game was the first time the Diamondbacks have beaten the Scorpions on their field since April 4, 2023.

Logan Wanco was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidan Brambila, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Apple Valley hadn't done well against Oak Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Sun Devils put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Sun Devils, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Beau Lloyd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Lloyd was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Isaiah Reveron and Seth Robertson did most of the damage at the plate: Reveron scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Robertson scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Christopher Alvarez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Apple Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Apple Valley pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Serrano, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-9.
Serrano suffered a grim 21-2 defeat to Apple Valley in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Diamondbacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
