Soccer Game Preview: Douglas Byrd vs. Lumberton

Douglas Byrd hasn't had much luck against Lumberton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will challenge the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Douglas Byrd turned things around against Seventy-First on Thursday. They beat the Falcons by a goal, winning 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Douglas Byrd were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Lumberton can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on April 10th. They came out on top against South View by a score of 3-1.

Lumberton hit the Tigers with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brittney Hernandez, Makenna Bell, and Carliyah Mathis.

Lumberton's record is now 6-12-1. As for Douglas Byrd, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-12.

Douglas Byrd might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Lumberton when the teams last played back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
