Basketball Game Preview: Gill St. Bernard's Knights vs. Long Island Lutheran Crusaders

The Gill St. Bernard's Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Gill St. Bernard's is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Hillsborough 84-52 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Long Island Lutheran is ranked highly in their home state and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Sidwell Friends. Long Island Lutheran fell 67-57 to Sidwell Friends. The Crusaders have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Gill St. Bernard's pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Long Island Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Gill St. Bernard's was dealt a bruising 68-40 loss at the hands of Long Island Lutheran when the teams last played back in February of 2017. Can Gill St. Bernard's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
