Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethlehem Central). They put the hurt on the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans with a sharp 13-5 victory on Wednesday. The Eagles not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024 (when they won 16-4).

Owen Turner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Oliver Hosang was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Paul Lurie was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Bethlehem Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bethlehem Central's record now sits at 4-9. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Bethlehem Central and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Eagles will square off against Averill Park at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (315 vs. 77). Meanwhile, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (ranked 427th) will meet Scotia-Glenville (ranked 80th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
