Basketball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

If Newport was riding high fresh off their 78-55 takedown of Harrisburg last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Newport Greyhounds were dealt a 92-63 loss at the hands of the Osceola Seminoles on Tuesday. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Seminoles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Newport's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-5. As for Osceola, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Newport will be playing at home against Rivercrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Newport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Osceola, they are taking a road trip to square off against Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
