Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against San Lorenzo Valley on Thursday, Scotts Valley came back down to earth. The Falcons lost 10-1 to the Leigh Longhorns on Saturday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Kaleb Wing made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Scotts Valley is 4-1 when Wing posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-14 otherwise.

Scotts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Leigh, they pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotts Valley will challenge Homestead at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leigh, they will welcome Capuchino at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
