Baseball Recap: Ranney Has No Trouble Against Marlboro

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Red Bank Catholic, Ranney was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Marlboro Mustangs by a score of 11-7. The match marked Ranney's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Brody Garguilo was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Curt Chropuvka was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double.

Ranney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Ranney back to even at 3-3. As for Marlboro, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Ranney will have a chance to go back-to-back against Marlboro: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
